The Process
Turning your innovation into funded reality, one step at a time.
Finding calls
- EU4Health adapts its priorities annually. To check if your project aligns with the current priorities, consult the EU4Health annual Work Programmes.
- EU4Health calls for proposals are located on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal (FTP).
- Search for a specific call or click on the View button to view all EU4health calls for the current funding period. You may also filter by Programme “EU4Health” to see the list of available open calls.
- Calls vary and have different requirements. To ensure all requirements are understood, it’s important to read the “Topic and conditions documents” section.
- This infographic on how to apply for funding (page two) provides details on the different steps that need to be followed for both calls for proposals and tenders.
Registration
- Every organisation involved must register (or already be registered) on the portal and obtain a Participant Identification Code (PIC). If you have questions about this process, you can watch the PIC registration and validation process video for guidance.
Proposal Submission
- Prepare your proposal by completing Part A (administrative details, filled in on the portal) and Part B (technical description, using the provided template). Combine these, along with all required annexes, and upload into portal.
- Combine these, along with all required annexes, and upload into the poral and be sure to validate. For further guidance refer to slide 18 to 27 in the EU4Health Programme.
Evaluation
- Submissions are evaluated based on relevance, quality, and impact. For further information, please refer to the slide 30 and 31 of the EU4Health Programme.

1 EU4Health does not define formal technology readiness level requirements. This indicative range is based on an estimation based on the maturity of the projects funded under previous EU4Helat calls and is provided for comparability purposes only.
2 EU4Health does not set a predefined funding ceiling per project. This indicative range is based on typical grant sizes observed in previously funded projects on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and may vary depending on the specific call.
3 For the purposes of STEP‑mapping on this website, EU4Health is positioned under Biotechnologies, reflecting its contribution to strategic health technologies, medical innovation and related enabling solutions. EU4Health itself is a broader health policy programme and is not a technology‑specific instrument in the STEP taxonomy.
