The process
Turning your innovation into funded reality, one step at a time.
- You can apply throughout the year. Venture debt financing has no fixed application windows or deadlines, but the process follows specific steps.
- You can start the process by creating an account or logging in to EIB MyRequests.
- Alternatively, you can submit your pitch deck to: venturedebt@eib.org.
- The process is competitive and includes a pre-screening stage. Selected applicants may be invited to an introductory video call lasting 30 to 60 minutes.

Eligibility
Not sure if you qualify? We will help make it clear.
To obtain venture debt financing, you must have completed a fundraising round with private investors. Do you need help identifying suitable investors? Check the European Investment Fund-backed funds.
The venture debt instrument supports growth financing and targets innovation-driven companies at the commercial stage that:
- have raised equity;
- prove they have a strong business model, governance and team;
- have investments in the EU.
